Hey friends! This week we launched something brand new, Christmas ornaments are finally dropping (mark your calendars!), and I'm sharing the one speech tip that helped all my girls become early talkers. Let me catch you up on everything.

This past week in a minute:

Family Business Revival 🔥 This past week we launched something new, mostly my husband Jordan, but you'll see me over there too. It's called Family Business Revival, and it's been so awesome seeing how people are responding to it already.

Here's one of our favorite notes from the community so far:

"It was one of your posts probably a year or two ago now about the freedom that comes with being business owners and the courage to take the leap that inspired me to learn more about the options. We're currently in the process of buying a business!"

So many of you ask questions about business. We've been doing this as a team for nearly 10 years now, with the kids getting more and more involved as they grow. The book and art business, licensing, real-estate, and other ventures. Jordan loves business, coaching, teaching... and we've been doing some of this behind the scenes for a while now.

And we want to do a bit more. Plus, we have so many family business friends whose stories and lessons we'd love to share with you too!

Many of you don't know this, but Jordan worked at a marketing agency for 10 years, managing advertising for big brands like Gap, Cirque du Soleil, and J.Crew. He wants to bring that knowledge to small, family-owned businesses. The stuff that often slows us down, like Instagram ads, S-Corps, bookkeeping… all the "terrible" but necessary things.

But more importantly, the real question we're exploring is: How can we integrate family and business together in a way that strengthens our family, not wears it down? (And take back our family time)

How do we build legacy in the day-to-day, not just build something separately to pass off at the end? We live this daily, and we'd love to encourage others to take steps in this direction too.

If you're dreaming about "someday," just getting started, or looking to integrate your family into your current business in a meaningful way, you should sign up.

For now, it's a weekly newsletter with tactical advice and a peek behind the curtain. But in the future? Much, much more!

The Christmas tree came out this week 🎄 … Well, kinda. I convinced Jordan to get it down by blaming it on the Christmas ornament release and calling it a "business necessity." Classic me.

It came out looking a little worse for the wear. Not as many lights were twinkling as I'd hoped. (Thanks for noticing, Clark. )

Honestly, it kind of looks like a party on the bottom and a Charlie Brown Christmas tree on the top. But we'll get it there. Just give us time.

Ornaments (finally!)… Speaking of ornaments, we're finally releasing them this week! I'm so sorry for the delay. We haven't been ignoring your messages, I promise.

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 12th at 1:00 PM CST!

It's going to be a limited release, and according to Jordan, it'll be our biggest launch discount ever. I'll be dropping a new 2025 design, and maybe a little something extra too 🙂

For now, here's a little inspiration for you: Christmas Ornaments

Early Language Made Simple

Y'all keep asking for speech therapy tips, so here's something I shared this week that really resonated. And, so many of my speech therapy friends chimed in with their support and additional recommendations, which was so encouraging!

As a speech therapist and mom of four, all of my girls have been very early talkers. And honestly? It comes down to one simple practice I call "follow the gaze."

Before babies can point or communicate with words, I use their eyes and what naturally catches their attention to build language quickly and efficiently.

Here's how it works: I pick a few words that are meaningful and interesting to my baby, and I label what she's looking at every single time.

"Water" is one of my favorites because it's so fascinating to babies. Every time I turn on the sink, the hose, or the bath, or anytime we see running water anywhere, I say the word. After a very short time, I can ask baby "where is water?" and she'll immediately start scanning the room, searching for it with her eyes.

Instagram Post

I do the same thing with "daddy." Every time she looks at him, I say "daddy." Now at 7 months old, I can walk into a room and ask "where is daddy?" and she'll scan the whole space looking for him.

The bottom line? You don't need to wait until your baby is babbling or pointing to start this. You can begin from day one.

Choose a few words that are meaningful and interesting to your baby, and make labeling part of your daily routine. I promise, if you're consistent with this, you'll very likely have early talkers on your hands.

It's such a simple shift, but it makes such a big difference.

Have you tried this with your littles? Let me know how it goes! (See it in action)
